hi everybody I'm Steve Garrett the
0:01
Creator and host of the only current
0:03
podcast dedicated Corvette Corvette
0:06
today I recently got the solar
0:08
engineering throttle controller and
0:10
their 91mm throttle body for my 2023
0:14
70th Anniversary white pearl metallic
0:16
Stingray Coupe I wanted to share how the
0:18
install of the solar throttle body went
0:21
what makes it interesting is that I also
0:23
have the even chury carbon fiber cold
0:25
air intake on my Corvette I think this
0:28
is probably the First Solar throttle
0:30
body attached to an even chury cold air
0:32
intake a couple of weeks ago I installed
0:35
the solar throttle controller to my
0:37
accelerator P it was a very simple
0:39
install took me maybe 3 or 4 minutes if
0:42
that and talking with the people at
0:44
solar they told me that they work
0:46
seamlessly together and provide more
0:48
horsepower and a much better throttle
0:50
response with the controller and the
0:52
throttle body well I knew that the solar
0:54
throttle Controller made a night and day
0:56
difference already in the throttle
0:58
response on my Corvette so I was really
1:01
anxious to have the two working together
1:03
and see what kind of difference it would
1:04
make on the car the install was done at
1:06
my local Hendrick chevolet dealership
1:08
here in Kansas City a shout out goes to
1:11
Alex Foltz my service manager and also
1:13
Logan my tech who did the install here's
1:17
my car being pulled into the bay and
1:19
getting ready for the solar engineering
1:20
throttle body install the first thing
1:23
Logan did was remove the trunk carpeting
1:25
as you can see I just got the new GM
1:28
aftermarket microfiber trunk and frun
1:30
liners they come in three colors by the
1:32
way tan black and red and as you can see
1:36
the red really makes the even chy carbon
1:38
fiber cold a intake stand out in the
1:41
trunk after unscrewing the latch downs
1:44
and the hooks on the trunk we took out
1:46
that carpet which includes the window
1:48
for the even chury cold air intake after
1:51
that it was a matter of getting the cold
1:52
air intake and its bracketing off the
1:55
engine bay and removing it from the car
1:58
once we had access to the OEM throttle
2:00
body it's as simple as disconnecting the
2:02
tab on the side of the throttle body and
2:04
removing the four screws on the throttle
2:07
body itself we took the two throttle
2:09
bodies and held them side by side to get
2:11
a visual comparison of both even Logan
2:14
my tech noticed how much better the
2:16
solar throttle body is than the OEM one
2:19
so once we had that done the solar
2:21
throttle body fits right back into the
2:23
engine bay and onto the engine with the
2:25
OEM screws we reconnected the tab and
2:28
tightened everything down on the new
2:30
solar 91mm throttle body getting the
2:33
even chury carbon fiber cold air intake
2:36
back in the car and reconnected to the
2:37
engine is the next big step it takes a
2:40
few minutes to get that back into the
2:41
Corvette and reconnected to the engine
2:44
but Logan has done this before a couple
2:46
times already as a matter of fact he
2:48
originally installed my even chury
2:50
carbon fiber cold air intake as well as
2:52
my sole Performance Products aftermarket
2:54
exhaust and the high performance cats by
2:57
the way this exhaust is truly amazing
3:00
and really really loud when my 70th
3:02
Anniversary Stingray pulls up every time
3:04
everyone stops and wants to know when I
3:06
start the car which Corvette is making
3:08
that big sound so after the solar 91 mm
3:12
throttle body is installed and putting
3:14
back the even chury carbon fiber cold
3:16
air intake with the window solar
3:18
suggests starting the car letting it run
3:21
for 3 minutes at idle then shut it off
3:23
for 1 minute and repeat that two-step
3:25
process one more time this way the ECU
3:28
in the Corvette recog izes and learns
3:30
the new solar throttle body it also
3:33
gives it time to connect with the solar
3:34
throttle controller so the two can match
3:37
up and work seamlessly together you
3:39
might have to drive your Corvette 30 or
3:41
40 miles to allow the throttle
3:43
controller and the throttle body to pair
3:45
up but the results they're well worth it
3:48
when I drove the Corvette off the
3:49
dealership I immediately felt the
3:51
difference in the entire car throttle
3:54
response was much quicker and I could
3:56
immediately tell the car had much more
3:58
power too plus the Corvette glided much
4:01
easier and seemed to be less constrained
4:04
so combined with more power and terrific
4:06
throttle response I'm a real happy
4:08
camper I highly recommend solar

4:13
controller or the throttle body or both
