now here's your host steve garrett
0:14
hi i'm steve garrett it's a corvette
0:15
today extra because we have z06 pricing
0:18
now from general motors and with me this
0:20
afternoon is keith cornett from corvette
0:22
blogger keith let's give our listeners
0:24
and viewers updated pricing on the z06
0:27
and the z07 well steve i got to tell you
0:29
this day has been a long time coming i
0:31
think we're about 250 days from the
0:33
actual reveal back in october of last
0:35
year of the z06 we know that the natives
0:37
were getting nervous it was funny about
0:39
friday morning we started getting
0:41
indications that something was happening
0:43
and by noontime everything was blowing
0:45
up and then at 1 30 the actual pricing
0:47
did come out and that was 12 30 central
0:49
on friday july 15th exactly so here's
0:52
what we got steve we got some very
0:54
strong pricing for the z06 the 1lz coupe
0:57
the starting price will be 106 395.
1:00
again that's a 106 395 for the starting
1:03
price of the z06 coupe wow and then it
1:06
goes 1lz2oz3oz
1:08
so the 2lz is
1:11
595 and then the 3lz coupe is 120
1:15
245 wow we also have three pricing
1:19
levels for the z06 convertible the
1:21
convertible starts at 113 895
1:24
and the 2lz is 122 595 and the 3lz is
1:29
127 245. so if my numbers are right it
1:33
looks like there's about a 9200 jump
1:36
between 1lz and 2lz and then the three
1:39
lc is another 46.50 and keith the
1:41
pricing 1lz and 2lz are the mouton
1:44
leather and the 3lz is the napa leather
1:47
and that's the big differences in those
1:50
trim packages for interior yeah you know
1:52
the other thing we'll see too is we
1:53
don't have it yet but the order guide
1:55
will actually tell us what's standard
1:57
what's available what's optional so then
1:59
from there we can really see what are
2:01
you getting for that 2lz versus the 1lz
2:03
the 3oz versus the 2lc so really this is
2:06
where the order guide would be very
2:07
handy and i was going to talk about this
2:09
a little bit later but i think we might
2:11
see the order guide as soon as friday
2:13
evening sometimes it leaks on a weekend
2:15
night great but hopefully we'll have it
2:17
early next week at the latest now that
2:19
we have pricing people obviously want to
2:20
see what's covered in each of those trim
2:22
levels keith let's also go over the z07
2:25
package the pricing and what that
2:26
includes sure so we got z07 is at 8995
2:30
for that package the package includes
2:32
the fe 7 suspension brembo carbon
2:35
ceramic brakes michelin pilot cup 2r zp
2:39
tires and the underbody aerostrikes and
2:42
steve to get the z07 package you
2:44
actually need to add an aero package to
2:46
it we saw this back with the c707 and
2:49
they're doing it again now for this d8
2:51
what you want to do is you have the
2:52
choice between either a carbon flash
2:54
metallic version or the visible carbon
2:56
fiber okay the carbon flash is 84.95
3:00
and then the visible carbon fiber is 10
3:03
495. got it and that's where your big
3:06
wing comes from that's where your little
3:07
wing is we got pricing on the carbon
3:09
fiber wheels those are available
3:11
obviously in two different versions as
3:12
well the carbon flash or visible carbon
3:14
fiber the carbon flash metallic wheels
3:17
will start at 99.95 and then if you want
3:19
to go to the visible carbon fiber that's
3:21
eleven nine nine five you know that's
3:23
not a bad price keith i was really
3:25
thinking that i was hoping that that
3:27
would be the pricing and that's really
3:29
pretty reasonable for a set of four
3:31
carbon fiber wheels yeah i i had some
3:34
people guessing that would be like 15 or
3:36
16 000 and i always thought that that 12
3:38
000 was probably about the sweet spot
3:40
that's good news and again if you're
3:42
just want the less weight on the wheels
3:43
and you don't really care about the
3:44
visible carbon fiber then the carbon
3:46
flash is the way to go you know those
3:48
are then just the 99.95 right and you
3:50
still get that 41 pounds of reduction on
3:52
the unsprung weight so that might be a
3:54
good way to go for somebody but again
3:56
you're already spending the 10 000 for
3:57
the carbon fiber wheels you might as
3:59
well get the visibles for another two
4:01
thousand dollars yeah i totally agree
4:03
buddy you know me i'm a carbon fiber
4:05
fanatic so i would definitely do that as
4:07
well do we also have pricing for the
4:10
interior carbon two package and the
4:12
different pricing for the seats yeah we
4:14
do and we've got wheel pricing as well
4:16
let me just run through some stuff here
4:18
first of all the j57 these are the
4:20
carbon ceramic brakes from brembo you
4:22
can add those for 84.95 if you didn't
4:25
want to do the z07 package we also have
4:28
the spyder wheels the black wheels are
4:30
going to start at the 495 the satin
4:32
graphite wheels are going to start at
4:33
4.95 but if you want to go to the
4:36
machine faced wheels those are 14.95 and
4:39
then from there they also have the lpo
4:41
wheels and those jump up to like 37.95
4:44
for the tech bronze and 35.95
4:47
for the satin graphite with the red
4:49
stripe around it pretty strong pricing
4:51
there on the lpo wheels some of the
4:53
other pricing we got i believe these are
4:55
the front splitters we've got a carbon
4:56
fiber visible front splitter for 3995
5:00
and a carbon flash splitter for 29.95
5:02
again this i think that's the same
5:04
pricing that we saw back with c7 z06
5:06
back in the day as well you had asked
5:08
about the interior packages we have the
5:10
stealth interior the baz that's 5.95 the
5:14
interior dash carbon surround this is
5:16
the level one package is still 1500 but
5:19
then the carbon fiber interior level two
5:21
which adds it to the doors and the mode
5:23
button those are 49.95 that's a strong
5:26
price as well i was thinking that it
5:28
would be up there around four or five
5:29
and that's exactly what it came in with
5:31
and to get the carbon two package you've
5:33
got to get the carbon one package as
5:35
well i would think that's the case again
5:37
the order guide will tell us that okay
5:39
so as far as seats go there's really
5:41
only two seats there's just the gt2s or
5:43
the competition sport bucket seats okay
5:45
you know on the one lz you can get a
5:47
competition sport bucket seat for 9.95
5:49
if you've got a 2lz you can get the gt2
5:52
seats i think they're standard on the
5:55
3lz but the 2lz they're 16.95 so i think
5:57
the seat pricing is pretty close to
5:59
being similar to what we see on stingray
6:01
gotcha well that sounds good is there
6:03
anything else that we haven't covered
6:04
yet for the z06 or the z07 keith well
6:07
we're really digesting this we literally
6:09
got this pricing information an hour ago
6:12
so we're still going through there is an
6:14
option on here for the gas guzzler tax
6:16
and it says tbd so to be determined the
6:19
gas goes or tax i think on the zr1 was
6:22
21 or is it 2300 or so something like
6:25
that in 2019 and then the z06 i think
6:28
was around 1700 okay so it could be
6:31
something similar or around that area i
6:33
don't think it's going to be much higher
6:35
than that that sounds good and then
6:37
we're going to see everything online on
6:39
july 28th isn't that correct that's when
6:41
the ordering is actually going to start
6:43
opening up so dealers will get
6:45
allocations probably the week before
6:47
that'll give them some indication of
6:49
what they've got and then they'll
6:50
contact their first customers on their
6:52
list and bring those people in and
6:54
they'll be able to place their initial
6:55
order we still don't have an idea of
6:57
when actually production's going to
6:59
start we've been saying the six to eight
7:00
weeks after ordering i think that well
7:02
again for a late august or maybe an
7:05
early september start there well at
7:07
least we have pricing and that's the
7:08
beginning of everything so it's out and
7:10
the ball is rolling exactly you know
7:12
this has just been the one thing that
7:13
everybody's been waiting on and
7:14
everybody's been kind of pins and
7:15
needles a little bit the corvette team
7:17
didn't know this is all set by either
7:19
the gm finance we call them the
7:21
legendary bean counters it is kind of
7:23
disappointing that it is 106. i mean
7:25
obviously it's a great car totally worth
7:27
it but there's a lot of people that were
7:28
praying that it wouldn't be above 90
7:30
they're really stretching at that point
7:32
right it might have just gotten priced
7:34
out of the market very sad to hear that
7:36
happen on the plus side there's probably
7:37
gonna be a lot of movement in the
7:39
various lists that dealers have so don't
7:41
be surprised if you see yourself all
7:43
sudden moving up 20 50 100 spots by the
7:46
end of the week exactly right well keith
7:48
thanks for being on this corvette today
7:50

7:52

discussed it's up on corvetteblogger.com
