the bowling green assembly plant so you

know last time we talked the plant was

just coming off of a reduction where

they were only running their first shift

they've been running two shifts since

the last two weeks the good news is

we've crossed over 8 000 on the 2022s it

looks like everything's going well in
3:26
fact one of the days they did 196 cars

in one day which i think is a record i
3:30
think that's one of the highest days

we've ever seen production wise so

things are going good the other thing
3:35
too is we heard that general motors was
3:37
reducing some of the content in their
3:40
suv specifically what they were going to
3:41
do is they were going to actually remove
3:43
the heated seats and the heated steering
3:45
wheel elements from those trucks and the
3:47
rumor was that it might be happening to
3:49
the corvette but the corvette is
3:51
protected on that and i think what's
3:52
going to happen with those trucks is
3:53
like dealers if you buy one of those
3:55
cars and you don't have the heated seats
3:57
or the heated steering wheels you'll be
3:59
able to take that truck back into the

dealer at some point and hopefully have
4:02
that reinstalled but we're protected

there looks like things are good we're

just continuing to roll on to the end of

the year good day here buddy i'm glad to

hear that those seats are not coming out

of the corvette as well but we also had

a quality control situation at the

bowling green assembly plant over wheels

what was going on with that yeah so we

really don't have the full picture yet

they always hold this kind of stuff

close to the chest but what we heard was

we had customers we had people waiting

on their corvette and especially those

rhc deliveries those people that had

appointments started getting moved back

it is based on some sort of wheel issue

we don't know if we just got some bad

batch of wheels it's an issue that

affects both the trident wheels as well

as the open spoke wheel so it's not like

if you just get this one wheel you know

it's what's causing the hold up we do

have a statement from somebody at the

plant that said that they confirmed that

there is a small percentage of vehicles

being held for a wheel related quality

hold and they actually think that

they'll be back up and running with

those cars and shipping them out by the

end of the month something that came up

it's not good but yet they caught it

there at the plant they're replacing

what looks like to be faulty wheels with

good wheels and then those will go out

to the customers a little blip but

nothing to be too concerned about

actually it's a good thing because i'd

rather have them catch it at bowling

green rather than catch it at the

dealership and a person already takes

delivery of their car and then has to

bring it back for new wheels yeah we had

an issue back in march that's exactly

what happened was there was a service

bulletin issued that said when you bring

in your car the dealer techs are

supposed to eyeball the wheels to see if

there was any pitting or porosity issues

especially in the barrel of the wheel

behind the spokes they already did that

so it looks like there just might be

another bad batch of wheels okay also

study that was good to see some great

news like that well these are fun

studies as well because this one is a jd

power so it's people that have the cars

reporting back and how much they like

it's loud as hell as we all know and

the corvette tying the escalade they're

both very similar they're different

the escalade on that but people love

was it's actually going to replace the

morello red the morello reds are a

really rich dark color red as opposed to

the bright red of the adrenaline right

so we went back actually looked at some

stats in 2020 the morello red was only

installed on 297 cars and in 2021 it was

only on 355. both of them are like 1.46

and 1.34 in terms of the penetration so

not a lot of customers actually chose

the marilla red and in fact i think some

people just had trouble pairing it up

with the right exterior color i think

it's a good thing the adrenaline red and

also found out and again this is all

validated by one of the official photos

completes the collection what they have
