from around the world excitement for the
3:48
C8 ZR1 is at a fever pitch right now and
3:51
we have more in- depth information for
3:53
you now about the ZR1 with me today is
3:56
Trevor Tomkins the senior manager for
3:58
car performance and Motorsports
4:00
Communications for Chevrolet we're going
4:02
to give you more insight and details
4:04
about the ZR1 first Trevor welcome to
4:07
Corvette today my friend thank you Steve
4:09
it's great to be here with you I
4:11
appreciate you taking the time we are
4:13
all excited about the ZR1 coming out
4:15
first Trevor let's talk about pricing
4:17
which came out in early January go over
4:20
base pricing with me for the coupe and
4:22
the convertible yes Steve first of all
4:24
thank you for having me and this car is
4:26
fantastic really excited to be here
4:28
talking about it today so the Corvette
4:30
ZR1 starts at
4:33
$174,999 for the one LZ Coupe if you're
4:37
looking for a 1 LZ convertible that's
4:39
1884 9.99 and then as you move into 3 LZ
4:44
top trim level that starts at 185 and
4:47
the 3lz convertible will be available at
4:50
195 9.99 that sounds great and note that
4:54
no 2 LZ it's a 1 LZ or a 3 LZ right
4:58
that's right sounds good now as we
4:59
already know the ZR1 makes 1,064
5:02
horsepower which is just mindboggling
5:05
828 lb feet of torque it goes 233 M hour
5:10
and it runs 0 to 60 in 2.3 seconds oh my
5:15
gosh yeah it's the quickest Corvette
5:17
we've ever done it is the fastest car
5:20
you can get under a million dollars it's
5:22
really an incredible piece of machinery
5:25
and included in all the Z1S you can get
5:27
the visible carbon fiber roof carbon
5:29
ceramic brakes performance data recorder
5:31
PDR carbon fiber ground effects and side
5:34
intakes I mean it's going to look
5:35
fantastic out on the street no matter
5:37
how you equip it I can't wait for this
5:39
thing this is so exciting and it leads
5:41
me into the next question too we did
5:43
talk about the two trim levels tell me
5:45
about the difference between what you
5:47
get on the two interior trim levels yeah
5:50
so 1lz starts at the standard rear
5:53
camera uh Bose's 10 speaker sound system
5:56
of course you get the 12in instrument
5:58
cluster and the engine appearance
6:00
package but when you get into 3lz that
6:02
starts you can either have the GT2 or
6:05
the competition seats napple othera
6:07
front and rear cameras parking and all
6:10
that 14 speaker Bose sound system the
6:13
heated folding mirrors wireless phone
6:15
charger and the wrap steering wheel and
6:17
of course carbon fiber trim on the
6:19
paddle shifters that sounds good now
6:21
also outline for me what's the
6:23
difference between the carbon fiber
6:25
Arrow package and the ztk package
6:28
because with the c
6:30
ztk was the high-wing but I think that
6:33
the high-wing is included in the carbon
6:35
fiber Arrow package isn't that correct
6:37
yeah that's a good question Steve so
6:39
when you're wrapping it all together the
6:41
carbon fiber Arrow package is what gives
6:43
you the high-wing the Canard the tall
6:46
Hood splitter the arrow strikes
6:48
underneath the car that's the package
6:50
that creates north of 1200 pounds of
6:52
downforce the ztk package requires you
6:55
to get that Carbonero package but ztk
6:58
then brings in the adjusted the track
7:00
suspension with Magnetic Rod it's
7:02
stiffer Springs importantly it also
7:04
brings the option for the Michelin cup
7:07
two R Tires once again if you get the
7:09
carbon Arrow package that is a
7:11
standalone package that you can get and
7:13
if you want the ztk for ultimate Track
7:15
Performance you are not only getting the
7:17
carbon Arrow package but you are also
7:20
getting the suspension tuning and the
7:22
cup two R Tires that's perfect buddy
7:24
because for me I wouldn't really track
7:26
my ZR1 but I'd love that high wings so
7:29
that's included with a carbon fiber
7:31
Arrow package and now the ztk is really
7:34
more Performance Tuned and oriented for
7:36
the track then isn't it that's right
7:39
that sounds great well Trevor let's take
7:40
our first break buddy when we come back
7:42
we're going to talk about what's new for
7:44

11:30
4231 I'm your host Steve Garrett with me
11:33
is Trevor Tomkins the senior manager for
11:35
car performance and Motorsports
11:37
Communications for Chevrolet we are
11:39
talking about the brand new ZR1 in
11:41
segment number two we're going to talk
11:43
about some of the new things that are
11:44
coming out for the car with the ZR1 you
11:46
get a preview for Sirius XM and you get
11:49
Spring Mountain training for this talk
11:52
about what you get for the ZR1 with
11:54
SiriusXM and with Spring Mountain yeah
11:57
so with Sirius XM for those who are in
11:59
the car a lot doing road trips whatever
12:01
it is your optimal choice of Music we're
12:03
given three years of Serius XM and
12:05
that's on ZR1 but it's also on all
12:07
models in 2025 so Stingray eay Z6 ZR1
12:12
you get three years of serus XM for your
12:14
listening pleasure and as you mentioned
12:16
Steve the relationship with Spring
12:18
Mountain that we have through the Ron
12:20
Fellows Driving Academy for Corvette is
12:22
really strong and we will continue that
12:24
with the ZR1 so owners will be able to
12:27
go to Spring Mountain participate in
12:28
class is and really learn how to push
12:30
their ZR1 to the edge boy I'd love to
12:32
own a ZR1 and go to Spring Mountain do
12:34
the ronf fellows training that would be
12:36
fantastic oh yeah you know another thing
12:38
that I like Trevor that I've got for my
12:40
70th Anniversary white pearl metallic
12:43
Coupe Stingray I've got the new trunk
12:45
and frun liners from General Motors they
12:47
come in black tan and red I got mine in
12:50
red it looks fantastic I have to agree
12:53
with you Steve I know you were showing
12:55
me some pictures and it really does look
12:57
fantastic it is an avail able accessory
13:00
for all of our variants of course if you
13:02
getting the ZR1 you're not going to get
13:03
the frunk since there's a heat exchanger
13:05
up there but you're absolutely right as
13:07
an accessory package you can get black
13:09
tan or red on those suede trunk and
13:11
front liners it looks fantastic we'll
13:13
put some pictures of mine up there for
13:14
the YouTube version of this episode of
13:16
Corvette today also Trevor let's talk
13:19
about the seat belt options because I
13:21
know there's a bunch of them and they
13:22
really look fantastic of course there's
13:25
seven options for customers to order you
13:28
can go with black orange green natural
13:32
tension Blue Torch red and yellow that
13:35
sounds good and also we have new brake
13:36
caler colors as well don't we that's
13:39
right you got a handful of those as well
13:41
with gray as standard Blue Tech bronze
13:44
bright red Edge red orange and velocity
13:48
yellow very cool now I know I'm thinking
13:51
back to the ZR1 from the C6 generation
13:54
and I love that blue package that was
13:56
done for the Blue Devil let's talk about
13:58
that because there are some things that
14:00
you can do for the C8 ZR1 that basically
14:03
packages it like that and it's that edge
14:05
blue packaging that gives it that Blue
14:07
Devil look doesn't it that's right I
14:09
mean who can forget that blue devil on
14:11
C6 with the 2025 Corvette ZR1 you can
14:16
use the free flow options to build
14:17
something that feels pretty similar and
14:19
actually for those who have seen some of
14:21
our display units we have one that
14:23
really kind of shows this we have a VR1
14:25
that is black and we've added the blue
14:28
custom leather Stitch interior which is
14:29
new The Edge blue painted forged
14:32
aluminum wheels you can put the blue
14:34
brake calipers on it and then we have
14:36
the carbon flash with blue accent full
14:38
length dual racing stripes and it really
14:41
starts to tie all that in together with
14:43
the blue engine cover and so it's a nice
14:45
uniform look across the car no matter
14:46
what body color you put it on it looks
14:48
fantastic as a matter of fact buddy I
14:50
was watching Barrett Jackson last week
14:52
and I saw the first ZR1 come across the
14:55
block number 001 that Rick Hendrick
14:58
bought for $3.7 million and oh my gosh
15:02
it's good to be Rick Hendrick isn't it
15:04
that spec with the high-wing and that
15:07
Blue Devil look that would be my exact
15:09
spec it looked fantastic yeah that car
15:12
is stunning I had the opportunity to be
15:14
there on the stage as we walked across
15:16
and Rick made his winning bid on the car
15:18
and of course keep in mind that is a
15:19
stand in Rick does get to customize the
15:21
car to however he wants it but Steve I
15:24
agree with you one of the first times I
15:25
saw ZR1 it was with the blue wheels and
15:28
that's a core memory for me now because
15:30
I just think it looked so good so
15:32
different I love that spec that rolled
15:33
across the stage at bar Jackson I kept
15:35
saying to my wife that's my spec right
15:37
there if Rick Hendrick doesn't want that
15:39
one I'll just take that one and he can
15:40
build his own there you
15:42
go well buddy let's take our final break
15:45
when we come back we're going to talk
15:46
about options for the ZR1 coming up next

19:13
4231 I'm your host Steve Garrett with me
19:16
is my buddy Trevor Tomkins Trevor is the
19:18
senior manager for car performance and
19:20
Motorsports Communications at Chevrolet
19:23
in this final segment we're going to
19:24
talk about some of the options that you
19:26
can get on the ZR1 Trevor talk to me a
19:29
little bit more about the wheels because
19:30
in front they're 20 in and 21 in in the
19:33
back but we've got some different and
19:35
new colors coming for the ZR1 don't we
19:38
that's right Steve we have in our
19:39
aluminum wheels you can get them in a
19:41
silver finish Edge blue carbon flash or
19:44
machine forged and then of course you
19:46
can also option into the 10 spoke carbon
19:50
fiber Wheels that's a new carbon fiber
19:52
wheel design for us for ZR1 tell me more
19:54
about the carbon fiber wheel because
19:56
it's different than the Z6 carbon fiber
19:59
wheel isn't it that's right it's our
20:01
second carbon fiber wheel that we've
20:02
been able to do as you pointed out it's
20:04
available on Z6 and E rate but this one
20:07
the 10 spoke for the ZR1 is really a
20:11
special looking wheel it's only
20:12
available in that exposed carbon fiber
20:14
weave visible carbon fiber and it looks
20:17
fantastic you can really see the detail
20:19
in the wheels and of course there is a
20:21
performance benefit to that as well just
20:23
like you saw on Z6 and eay on the ZR1
20:26
we're in the neighborhood of about 43
20:28
pounds of unsprung weight that we're
20:30
able to reduce from the vehicle and so
20:32
you really feel it behind the steering
20:34
wheel when you're pushing the vehicle it
20:36
responds that much faster and it's a
20:38
great performance addition to the
20:40
vehicle in addition to looking fantastic
20:42
buddy I love the Z06 carbon fiber wheel
20:45
and I actually picked one up when they
20:46
introduced the ZO6 at the Peterson
20:48
Automotive Museum in Los Angeles I was
20:51
amazed how light that thing was but as
20:53
good as that ZO6 wheel looks this ZR1
20:56
wheel looks even better yeah we've
20:58
really been able to work with our
21:00
supplier and just continue to make the
21:02
evolution in both the technology how
21:04
robust the wheel is and the appearance
21:06
continue to come along and we're quite
21:08
happy with the way that the car looks on
21:09
the carbon fiber Wheels yeah my hat is
21:11
off to carbon revolution in Australia
21:13
they do a fantastic job yes they do
21:16
buddy in segment two we touched a little
21:17
bit on the Strip that you can order for
21:19
the ZR1 and I know I was talking about
21:21
that package with the blue devil thing
21:23
let's overview all the stripe color
21:25
options that are available for the C8
21:27
ZR1 sure so with the Dual racing carbon
21:31
flash Stripes you can get them in blue
21:33
yellow orange silver or red and then
21:37
with the full length stripe options
21:39
there's also the edge blue carbon flash
21:41
orange Edge red silver and yellow nice
21:45
and also I saw in the order guide
21:47
there's a new Option the rear hatch
21:48
strut bracket comes in Edge red carbon
21:51
fiber dorsals and leather luggage is
21:53
available as well isn't it that's right
21:55
those are all options and it really just
21:58
goes in to the fact that customers can
22:00
continue to spec out the car the way
22:02
they really want to and really add their
22:04
personal flare to it that rear hatch
22:06
strut brace is pretty neat it's a 3D
22:08
printed part and looks pretty cool when
22:09
you open up the hatch so it's a fun one
22:11
yeah those look really really good it
22:13
adds a little bit of bling and Flash to
22:15
the engine bay and it looks fantastic
22:18
plus I've got the 70th Anniversary
22:20
luggage which came with my 70th
22:21
Anniversary Stingray and I love the
22:23
luggage I don't know why but I just love
22:26
the Corvette luggage I had some with my
22:28
C seven now I've got more with my
22:30
C8 yeah those are good looking pieces
22:33
and it all just adds everybody knows
22:35
what you're arriving in when you arrive
22:36
if you pull those bags out absolutely
22:39
buddy talk to me more about the split
22:41
window option I absolutely love it now
22:43
does that come standard with the coupe
22:45
or how do you get that and how can you
22:47
order it yes Steve that is standard on
22:50
the coupe it's a core part of our design
22:51
for the car so the split window on the
22:53
coupe is always there if you are
22:56
ordering a Z1 you're specking yours out
22:58
the split window the spine that is made
23:01
from carbon fiber com standard in
23:03
visible carbon fiber but you can also
23:05
option body color to match the body of
23:07
your Z1 buddy you're talking my language
23:09
when you're talking carbon fiber that's
23:11
for sure it's it's so good to hear that
23:14
that's standard on the coupe yes it's
23:17
really functional it calls back to our
23:19
history you also see it in the Z06 gt3r
23:22
race car so it's a design feature we're
23:24
proud of and it's functional too that's
23:26
awesome and we're still looking at produ
23:28
in Q2 of this year isn't that right
23:30
that's correct that's fantastic buddy
23:33
have we missed anything is there
23:34
anything else we want to add before we
23:35
go I mean I'm sure there's so many
23:37
things but I just encourage if you're
23:39
looking to make an order or really just
23:41
want to explore all the options check
23:43
out chevy.com and look at the building
23:45
tools that we have available spec out
23:47
your options drop your favorite one
23:49
there's so much to play with and the car
23:50
looks fantastic whether you spec it with
23:52
the carbon fiber Arrow package or you
23:54
get the lower down Force version which
23:57
of course is our top speed version
23:59
plenty options and available packages to
24:01
play with and get the most out of your
24:03
trim with buddy I can't wait for this
24:04
car to come out Trevor thank you so much
