Okay. Corvettes on Woodward really

started more than 20 years ago. It's

officially a charity for 20 years, but

more than before that, we were on

Woodward Dream Cruise and we were just

watching the cars go by and 40 yellow

Mustangs came by. It was very

impressive. I said, "We belong to the

biggest Corvette club in Michigan. We

should be able to do better than that."

We called everybody we knew and we put
4:35
together a kind of a cruise, which was
4:37
kind of crazy. A couple years went by
4:40
and I started organizing Corvettes on
4:42
Woodward and I moved it over to the
4:44
local hotel into their parking lot.

We've been doing Corvettes on Woodward
4:49
for the last 20 years now.

That's fantastic. Now, Corvettes on

Woodward is part of the Woodward Dream

Cruise, right?

How long has the Woodward Dream Cruise

been going on?

This is their 30th year.

Woodward, too. It's drive to end hunger

we started up on the north end of

Woodward and we head south and I needed

use. One thing led to another and I said

we first started over 20 years ago,

to feature people that build and race

about that and who will be part of this

Okay. started out that one of the people

that volunteer and have helped me over

the years races his own Corvette at a

local track, Waterford Hills. And he

said, "You know, nobody really talks

about us." And I said, "Okay, I will."

And I said, "Let's get all your friends

together. We'll bring them to Woodward,

put them over by the M1, and we'll bring

and introduce them to people that build

and race their own Corvettes. Get the

people on some other ideas." And then we

expanded that a little bit because

people that like autocross said, "Well,

don't forget about us." And so that's

what we're doing. We have local people

that have used their own money to build

their Corvettes to follow a passion of

racing, whether it be on a track or

autocross or even a drag racer or two.

That'll be fun to see. Now, you've got

seminars there for attendees as well.

What seminar topics will be covered this

Basically, the seminars are going to

cover Corvette racing. What what they're

going to do is the people that build the

cars are going to have, you know, for

the track are going to have one seminar

and they're going to tell the people

about what it takes to build the cars

and even if they want to race, they have

cars for rent that they built for the

track. The second seminar is going to

cover autocross. This is an event that

regular people can do with their

money, but they can do a lot of fun and

learn a lot of skills. That's kind of

Yes. Every year during Dream Cruise, we

have also organized various tours to

different car collections and places to

go. Lingfelder collection has been part

of Woodward Dream Cruise for 20 years

and we go there every year. Canon Chris

and they have about 150 different cars

there and part of their collection. And

that's part of our tour. We also go to

Pratt Miller Racing and that we kind of

limit to people that really follow

racing because I'm limited to only 30

cars per tour partly because of parking.

But Lingenfelder is wide open and I can

bring hundreds of people there.

bigger shows like Carlile or whatever.

Carlile actually has a lot of room where

you got a lot of walking, but Woodward

is a mobile kind of an event. The cars

are constantly moving and on Saturday

it'll be 40,000 cool looking cars

cruising a 16-mi loop and a million and

a half people will be along the curb

sucking up gas fumes.

You know what? That does sound like fun,

It is. It's really a lot of fun. And

there's never a problem. In the 20 years

that we've been doing it, you never see

of anybody being arrested for doing

something crazy. And it's just a good

wholesome day. And people in Michigan,

lot of different places. Normally
