amazing thing is you know and I had the same process when I was talking about starting the blog is is there enough news out there is there enough

interesting people out there and now that you're 250 episodes I know that you've done a couple people a few times

but there is such a wide bandwidth that you can apply to the Corvette hobby so I mean there are stories everywhere so

it's just fantastic for you and congratulations again on that Milestone thank you buddy as a matter of fact after 250 episodes we've never

episode which is pretty darn cool yeah all right buddy let's start off like we always do let's get a production update

on Corvettes from the Bowling Green assembly plant sounds good so our numbers take us almost to the end of the month and production we see is still

running strong we actually went back and looked the plan has been averaging around 156 Corvettes completed per day

over the past 2 weeks currently we stand at 8,736 Stingrays

3,579 z6s and 1,246 e-rays just based on the latest

Vin count that's a great total of 13,561 Corvettes produced so far for 2025 model year one of the interesting

things is that I saw that 156 Corvettes being produced averagely per day so I went back and looked at what January in

February was in 2024 and we are building roughly 200 and some Corvettes per day

huh that's a reduction of about 50 cars over the two shifts so it does feel like some steps are being taken to slow down

the production of the sting ray we see these dealers offering upwards of 15% off of MSRP for discounts right 202 24s

are still out there so if you're looking for a good deal that's where I would go is look at those 2024 still on Deal a lot but it does feel like steps are

being taken to slow down that production and hopefully we'll see an emphasis then with the ZR1 coming shifting more

towards the widebody production of course GM makes really some great money on these Corvettes that all start north of $100,000 with the base Stingray they

sell more of those than any other car but the market saturated so we're really excited about ZR1 coming online the

e-rays have been very steady with their production numbers and of course the Z6 is they're building uh about 50 a day or

so yeah it all seems pretty good so far and again we're just watching latest constraints and all that stuff but

production still running strong that's good and speaking of ZR1 pre-orders went in on January 23rd yeah so we're getting

closer to the official ZR1 order cycle starts on February 13th but GM opened

the order bank for pre-orders on January 23rd now these orders all go in at status 1100 and they're not really

official until that order is match to a dealer's allocation which is coming February 13th some dealers like to get

those customer orders in early it does allow GM to see what customers want on their cars someone said it's not worth

the paper it's printed on but you're there we hear people all the time now on Facebook and stuff saying I've got a Z1

no you don't you got a spot in line yeah we'll wait to see what allocations are we expect them to be very loose starting

off with and then just sort of ramping up there right we also have some other news Chevrolet told dealers they will be

receiving the ZR1 Playbook this is a helpful PDF guide outlining all the equipment for the car and ordering you

generally we don't see that that's for dealers but a big thing that's coming up for buyers will be the configurator will

go live on chevrolet.com on February 11th nice just before those allocations

come out we be able to build our cars and I know we're going to do a couple sample builds and share those among our

has already notified dealers that the zr1's visible carbon fiber wheels these are exclusive only to the ZR1 these

wheels will be on 100% constraint when ordering opens they are listed as a late availability so there's actually no

telling when these wheels will show up and of course we always see these issues with carbon fiber Arrow bits as well so

I'll be watching that but Chevrolet came out said Don't expect carbon fiber Wheels when ordering opens Our advice is

if you really want one of the first z1es and you get that allocation just be prepared to be flexible because demand's

going to be high initial allocations will be low and then of course one of the lessons we've learned over the past few years is that many of the things

that the buyers missed out on due to constraints can be purchased later through Chevrolet's parts department or the aftermarket so keep that in mind and

of course adding a set of wheels after the fact is very easy sometimes adding the arrows a little bit more difficult

but we're seeing actually ZO6 replica wings out being sold now and like that so it'll come it just depends on how bad

you want that car how fast you want that car just always keep that in mind believe it or not Keith as much as I

love carbon fiber that's okay with me on the wheels because my spec would be the black one with the edge blue wheels so

I'm okay with the 100% constraint on the carbon fiber Wheels on the ZR1 how about that yeah I think we both talked about

that last time I think the black is very stunning of course you got to go with the coupe and the split window because it's the iconic look and again that blue

stripe and those blue wheels are pretty cool that's my spec for sure also Keith

GM announced four new appearance packages for 2025 this kind of reminds me of the Atlantic and Pacific builds

back for C7 yeah and also the 2019 Corvette ZR1 Sebring orange design package this was a car that was set up

in a way kind of offers a uniform look with the package price yeah when you do it that way you actually get a discount

as opposed to adding up all those various options individually we also see this Chevrolet Japan does a lot of these

they'll generally have two or three different design packages a year and it just kind of standardizes the ordering process while also like I said offering

a little discount to that these appearance packages are 2025 Corvettes they will save you between $475 and

$1,670 in savings when you add up all the things that you get they're available as cops and convertibles and

you can still add options like z51 performance package and other things the packages are called the adrenaline red

accent package this is available in torch red arctic white and black and you have to order the adrenaline red

interior and it comes with black wheels the tension blue accent package is available in Arctic White only with Sky

cool gray interiors and this car is sort of set up like the old serve one research Vehicles white with the blue

stripes the third one is the velocity yellow accent package this is available in Riptide blue arctic white and

hysteria purple the final one Edge orange accent package available in black or Arctic White all these cars they all

feature black wheels they all include that low profile spoiler racing stripes or stingers and then all come with the

NP PP performance exhaust which again that's a $1,200 option right there dealers will have the details for

everybody will be excited about this the Fed ederal Trade Commission has banned GM and OnStar from selling our driving

data for five years yeah this goes back to last year's stories about GM and OnStar selling your driving data to

brokers who then turned around and sold it to the insurance companies and then owners are wondering why their rates are

going up each and every year and it's because GM was providing pages and pages of driving data for those quote opted

into the program when it turns out that the opted notice wasn't clearly stated that their intentions and all that stuff

it was a crazy story New York Times actually blew the lid off of it there's actually been several lawsuits filed as

well so the Federal Trade Commission announced as punishment that General Motors and its subsidiary OnStar will

not be allowed to sell customer geolocation data and driving behavior data for the next 5 years of course

we'll have to see what happens after that but no one likes their personal data shared gotcha also Keith we have a new board member for the National

Corvette Museum it's Amy msika yeah she's actually Chevrolet's director of marketing and she's going to be taking

over the board seat that had been occupied by Harlen Charles Corvette's product marketing manager he's been there since I think 2005 wow so he's

racing first let's talk about how Corvett racing did at Daytona yeah that was some great racing to watch amazing

stuff happening there we had five Z6 GT THS in the field with three of those in the GTD Pro class and then two running

in the GTD class the biggest news coming from the weekend is that AWA racing their Z6 gt3r won the gdd class by just

1.45 seconds this is the 21st victory for Chevrolet in the Rolex 24 and the

fifth for the Corvette racing program since 1999 so congratulations to AWA racing in GT Pro the racing again

extremely fun to watch both Corvettes were competitive all the way through the race the number three Corvette placed

second and it was actually sandwich between the two Ford Mustangs who went first and third there of course was some

drama which everyone was talking about after the race in the final hours the number four Corvette with Tommy Milner

was running first and he was sending off a challenge from the number one BMW when the BMW's teammate in the number 48 Car

which again was several laps down and out of contention began deliberately blocking Tommy and the Corvette despite

receiving a call from Ina's race control for intentional blocking farfus who was the driver of that number 48 Corvette

stayed with it and deliberately blocked Milner in the international horseshoe curve there as Tommy was trying to get

out of the way from him he hit the number one BMW on his side and end up damaging the Corvettes rear fa this is

the big story here the big windup as Tommy came AB breast of the number 48 BMW he opened up that little small

buy basically the first Vin 001 Corvette for nearly 20 years most of these cars have been purchased by Chevrolet dealer

NASCAR team owner Rick Hendrick his checkbook once again got a workout at Bear Jackson Scottsdale paid $3.7

million for the right to build the first 2025 Corvette ZR1 he'll be able to option it however he wants Coupe

convertible he'll be able to pick his colors and pick options as well this was a record price for a charity auction and

I think it brings a total I think Barrett Jackson put out that they've raised 12.9 million for the charity of

a printed version didn't we so I told you I bought a 2025 Corvette eay right right well when I bought the car I

didn't know that it was not going to come with an owner's manual when I opened up the glove box there was another manual in there called essential

operating and safety information and apparently the same cost GM is now telling us to download the owner's

manual from chevrolet.com or to view it on my Chevrolet app well Steve I'm a bit old school I like the convenience of the

digital owner manual but I also like the idea of having access to a printed manual whenever I needed in the glove

compartment there is a process where you can buy a printed owner's manual and I just went through that process you go to

chevrolet.com you click on the menu to expand it and then click on Owner Manuals there's a specific link there

for that and then once you find your year there's actually a place there where you can jump over to a company

called Helm Incorporated and order a printed manual now the manual for my 2025 was $55 it cost me another $30 to

couple emails with Peter as we were leading up to this and it sounds like there's talk that his split window design he calls it the studio concept
