Where did you grow up? Do you have

siblings? Do you come from a car family?

So, I grew up in Michigan, pretty close

to the Motor City. I was about 30 miles

north of Detroit, but I lived only about

15 minutes from a place called Sterling

Heights where there were probably three

or four major manufacturer plants, Ford,

Chevy, Dodge, and then literally

hundreds of dealerships. I have family

that lived in Sterling Heights and so we
4:41
were there quite often and I got to see
4:44
a lot of the amazing sports cars back in
4:48
the mid to late8s. I was born in 1980s

so by the time I was about five or six I

was already into cars. I had three
4:56
brothers and a sister and I was the
4:58
youngest. So, all three of my brothers

were looking out for me for really

awesome cars and they would point out

Corvettes all the time and Mustangs and

you name it, if it was out there, they

were pointing it out to me.

So, cars really did play an important

role in your early life, didn't they?

Oh, yeah. And we had some friends that

had some money. And so a couple of our

really good friends growing up, one of

them had a 1970 Firebird that was all

like restored and had a 400 cubic inch

engine in it. And I got to ride in that

all the time. And then I had another

friend whose dad bought him a brand new

1993 Mustang GT

right when he turned 16.

Yeah. So, I had fast cars in my life as

far as my friends went as well. I saw my

very first Lamborghini Countach when I

was probably about 8 years old.

Wow. You know, the Lamborghini Countach,

that white Countach was the poster on my

wall as a teenager.

Oh, yeah. I had that. I had the Ferrari

Tessterosa. I had both of them as

Matchbox cars.

I loved them all.

So, what cars were you drawn to when you

were young? Obviously, you know,

Corvette might not have been the first

one, but what cars first caught your eye

when you were growing up?

Those two were probably the cars that I

dreamed about the most, but I saw a

Corvette. So, the C4 was the most

popular style back then, obviously.

I would see some C3s every once in a

while, but mostly you saw C4s driving

around. And I loved the C4. So, I fell

in love with Corvettes at an early age

as well, but obviously I knew that

Ferrari and Lamborghini were more rare

and exotic cars. So, those were my

favorite two cars.

Yeah, that leads me into the next

question. What was your first

recollection of Corvettes?

Probably when I was four years old,

believe it or not. We lived in
6:51
Mississippi. I lived there for a couple

years of my life and then we moved back

to Michigan. But we had a neighbor that

had a C3 across the street from us and

that was the first Corvette I ever saw

in my entire life and we moved from
7:03
there when I was 4 years old. So I saw a

C3 first. Gotcha. Tell me when did you

realize that Corvette was your car?

It was probably later in my life. Once I

got to a certain age, I started reading

all of the magazines, Car and Driver,

Motor Trend, Road and Track, and I

realized pretty quickly that out of all

those cars, as a normal person, the

Corvette was the one that I could

achieve the fastest.

Probably mid to late teens, I decided

that that was my goal. I bought my first

Corvette when I was 25.

Wow. Nice. So, talk about the Corvettes

that you previously owned, and I know

what you're driving now, but tell

everybody what you've got now. I've got

a 2024 C8 Ray.

Nice. And what about your previous

So, my first Corvette was a 2003

Corvette Z06. I found it with only 1,700

miles on it in 2005. So, it was only 2

years old and it had 1,700 miles and I

enjoyed that for 3 years. The next one I

bought was actually almost 10 years

later. It was a 2009 C6 Z06. That one

actually had almost 600 rear wheel

horsepower, but all naturally aspirated,

so it was a very, very fast car. And

then a couple years after that, in 2018,

I bought a 2015 C7 Z06. And those two,

the first one, the black C6006 started

my YouTube channel.

everything going.

Yep. That's the one that got everything

going. Then the C7 actually helped it

grow way more than the C6 did. And then

in 2020, I was lucky enough to be one of

the first people in Texas to have a C8.

And I got one in March of 2020. I've

owned that C8, turned it into a Captain

America car, and then the next C8 I

bought was a 2023 convertible Stingray.

I did my graphics package on that and

things in my life, but mostly I stuck

with sales. In 2010, I started working

for a roofing company selling roofs.

Making a very long story short, I

actually had started another YouTube

channel. I don't know if any of you have

heard of disc golf before. Disc golf is

played very similar to regular ball

golf, only it's with discs. I started a

YouTube channel here in Dallas because

there was a website that you could go

and look at current disc golf courses,

but all it was was Crummy Pictures and I

thought it would be a great idea to do a

4K drone footage YouTube channel where I

took the drone from the T- box to the

basket and showed everybody 18 holes of

the courses and that way they could see

exactly what they were getting into

before they drove maybe a long ways to

the course. Yeah, nice idea.

Thank you. So, I started that channel. I

called it Black Kite. There's a reason

behind that. It was kind of because when

you looked up in the air and you saw my

drone, it looked kind of like a black

kite.

I filmed over 60 courses, but it just

didn't do well. It wasn't the right

timing and it was kind of like a niche

thing that just wasn't ready for

YouTube. At the time, I had bought my

and he said, "You know what? you need to

actually make a dedicated Corvette or

car channel. So, I started Brink of

Speed in April of 18. He actually was

very instrumental on helping me get that

started correctly. He knew a bunch of

the secrets of how to get going very

nicely on YouTube. He even was an

amazing friend and at Carile in 2018 got

me in touch with Street Speed 717. We
