3:21
today's show has been on quite a few
3:22
times which makes him a huge friend of
3:25
the show and a returning guest Lance
3:27
Miller is here from Carlile events and
3:29
he's back to preview this year's
3:31
Corvettes at carile buddy welcome back
3:33
to Corvette today hey I'm excited to be
3:35
on I'm glad you're here first
3:38
congratulations Lance on your 50th
3:40
anniversary of Carlile events and
3:43
everybody knows that Corvettes at
3:44
Carlile is the world's largest Corvette
3:46
weekend too oh it's a big big event and
3:50
we're super excited about it obviously
3:52
always ends up being the end of August
3:54
so it's usually warm but it's always a
3:56
great weekend it's a must attend event
3:58
if you're a Corvette Enthusiast that's
4:00
for sure buddy I saw that you have
4:02
something new this year called the
4:04
historical timeline wall talk more about
4:07
that and where that's going to be
4:08
located on the grounds sure that's
4:10
located in building T which is where
4:12
Chip's choice is located as well I'll
4:14
tell you what our staff did a phenomenal
4:16
job I'm G to embarrass Rebecca and
4:18
Andrew with our team because they put a
4:20
lot of hard work and effort into it it's
4:23
very professionally done in fact I stood
4:25
down there alone when I first saw it and
4:28
literally went through the whole thing
4:29
myself and I had tears in my eyes it did
4:31
such an incredible job it did a great
4:34
job of just walking through the 50 years
4:36
of caral events and it was great to see
4:39
it all just right there in front of your
4:41
face it's pretty neat I encourage
4:42
everybody that comes to any of our
4:44
events this year be sure to go into
4:46
building tea and check it out it's
4:47
incredible boy I can't wait to see that
4:49
thing that's got to be absolutely
4:51
fantastic and also Corvettes carile has
4:54
a great vendor area too let's do a
4:56
little name dropping and talk about some
4:58
of the people that are going to be exhib
4:59
this year oh boy I can name drop all day
5:02
you know and I'll go through some of the
5:04
ones that I personally use you know
5:05
Adam's polish being right there at the
5:07
top of the list I enjoy cleaning my car
5:09
that's my relaxation I'm sure it is for
5:11
you too oh yeah and many of your
5:14
listeners always just great product I
5:16
always do a shout out to them another
5:18
one that I use often is American well I
5:20
shouldn't say I use it often that's not
5:22
a way to say that American collector's
5:24
Insurance just because of the fact I
5:26
really hope I don't have to use
5:28
it But ultimately you need it you know
5:31
so they always do a great job I always
5:33
shout out to them because of the fact if
5:35
you do need it they're there but they
5:37
make it so easy for you and I love that
5:39
another one that I just used which you
5:41
may have done as well is Spring Mountain
5:44
I love that place Ron fellow's Corvette
5:47
driving skull it's just great that one's
5:49
a lot of fun have you done that ever
5:51
I've done that two times and I've loving
5:53
it yeah I've done it a few times as well
5:56
it's just so much fun you really need to
5:58
experience it more so than me or you
6:01
talking about it as you well know you
6:03
need to go and enjoy it and really see
6:04
what these cars are capable of of course
6:06
if you want to bring your car to the
6:08
show you got trailers we have installs
6:10
that are going on if you have an exhaust
6:12
Wheels cway cars lingenfelder incredible
6:15
I could go on and on I don't want to
6:17
bore you there's a lot and it's a great
6:20
place if you're looking for something
6:21
for your Corvette and it doesn't matter
6:23
what generation either you can find it
6:25
at Corvettes at Carlile you could build
6:27
a Corvette right absolutely you could
6:30
build a Corvette yeah you really could
6:32
this is something I love doing I love
6:34
wandering through the carile car corral
6:36
because you've got Corvettes for sale
6:38
there too we do and that's really nice
6:40
for people that may not even be in the
6:42
market for one you may very well stumble
6:45
across some vehicle that you may fall in
6:47
love with during the shows it's always
6:49
fun to go through and see what's for
6:50
sale so we do have a car caral as well
6:53
it's all just Corvette be sure to check
6:55
that out if you're in the market if
6:56
you're looking to expand on your
6:58
Corvette inventory make sure you bring
7:00
your checkbook that's for sure also
7:02
Lance Let's Talk About The People's
7:04
Choice and the best of show because
7:05
that's coming again this year and this
7:07
year it's sponsored by aoli Wheels yeah
7:10
they have incredible Wheels a big shout
7:12
out to them they've been supporting us
7:14
as far back as I can remember them
7:16
actually being a company great people
7:18
and I love the fact that he's really got
7:20
like a cult following you know many guys
7:22
come in with his wheels Park and have
7:25
fun it's a lot of camaraderie and you
7:27
see some amazing vehicles I don't know
7:29
if you Rec call I think it was last year
7:30
there was the Trans Am Corvette which
7:33
was just cool you know people's
7:34
imaginations and the wheels were
7:36
absolutely stunning on it yeah that was
7:38
a really cool car and Chad Bay does a
7:40
great job there at aerol lari that's for
7:42
sure oh Chad's a great guy also tell me
7:44
more about the sweep Stakes this is
7:46
pretty cool I saw this it's a 59
7:48
restomod Corvette isn't it yeah that was
7:51
a vehicle I actually took it on trade uh
7:53
while back and my daughter fell in love
7:55
with this particular 1959 Corvette Resto
7:58
mod mainly due to the it's like bright
8:00
orange you either love it or you don't
8:02
like it so there's no in between with
8:05
this car but I love it and so did she so
8:08
I said you know what we'll keep it and
8:09
then I thought about it I'm like ah
8:11
let's try something new because we kept
8:12
doing a new Z06 for the sweep Stakes
8:15
this year we decided to try the Resto
8:17
mod and see how it goes we're excited
8:19
about that all funds that are raised go
8:21
to the chip Miller osis foundation and
8:23
obviously it goes to a great cause near
8:25
and dear to my heart I always encourage
8:27
people to buy some tickets and hopefully
8:28
you'll be driving this 59 Resto mod to
8:30
Corvettes of car future years there you
8:33
go go to Corvette contest.com if you
8:35
want to get registered Lance let's take

11:57
4231 I'm your host host Steve Garrett
12:00
with me is my buddy Lance Miller we are
12:02
previewing this year's Corvettes at
12:03
carile Lance let's talk more about the
12:06
Corvette challenge car reunion because
12:08
these are cars from 88 and '89 this will
12:11
be a really cool display won't it it
12:13
really will it's a fun group of people
12:15
but more than that the cars are so neat
12:18
obviously they're Factory Corvette race
12:20
cars there really aren't many of them
12:22
out there in the world so I'm super
12:24
excited to host the Corvette challenge
12:26
cars they are 8889 as you said I'm also
12:29
working very hard to get a lot of the
12:30
drivers to come and talk about some of
12:32
the races that they did a lot of these
12:34
drivers were big names back in the day
12:36
because it was a big carrot when I say
12:39
that they had the opportunity to win
12:40
million dollar purse throughout the year
12:42
so that was massive for a race series
12:44
I'm fond of them selfish side I own a
12:46
few so it's one of those things I love
12:48
them I love pushing it out there you
12:50
know I try and do it every five years so
12:52
this is the fifth year and it was time
12:53
to do it absolutely right and this
12:55
year's feature year for Corvette is 1974
12:58
isn't it
12:59
it is it's funny a lot of people don't
13:01
like the mid 70s cars but you know what
13:04
the people that own them love them and I
13:05
respect that so we try and continue that
13:08
theme there wasn't a ton of horsepower
13:10
back then you know I think the highest
13:12
horsepower back then was 270 horse for
13:14
the 454 if I'm not mistaken so you think
13:17
about that in today's terms you know
13:18
you've got cars that are over 700 well
13:20
heck you have cars that are over a th000
13:22
horsepower now coming out of the factory
13:24
270 just doesn't sound like much but
13:26
they're great cars you know so we're
13:28
excited to host them for their 50th
13:30
Anniversary that's cool and seminars
13:32
You' got lots of seminars let's talk
13:34
about some of the presentations that'll
13:35
be done this year I always love the
13:37
seminars I think it's so good to go to
13:40
any type of event and become educated
13:42
and getting an education from those that
13:44
certainly know the stories and the
13:46
background of whatever it might be for
13:48
instance your seminar we always love
13:50
having people like yourself that can
13:52
just convey something good about the
13:54
Corvette Hobby and really you might
13:56
light a fire under somebody and possibly
13:58
sell them a Corvette and you don't even
13:59
know it it's a lot of fun I'm a big
14:02
advocate of seminars just because of the
14:04
educational background of it and of
14:05
course the stories you know we plan on
14:07
doing something for the Challenge Series
14:09
as well that we just talked about doing
14:11
more of like a round table with the
14:12
drivers team owners and some of the
14:14
principles of the series so we're really
14:17
excited about that too I'm looking
14:19
forward to doing my two seminars I'll be
14:20
on Friday afternoon and Saturday
14:22
afternoon at Corvettes at Carlile so
14:24
make sure you come by and say hello also
14:27
something that is a must attend for me
14:29
on Friday night is the chip Miller
14:31
amalloy dosis Foundation dinner you did
14:33
a really good job at saying amalloy
14:35
dosis I'm impressed thanks buddy it's a
14:37
tough one to say I wish I didn't know
14:39
that word but I do it was my father
14:41
unfortunately that passed away from it
14:43
so what we do is try and raise funds and
14:45
awareness in a positive manner you know
14:47
rather than be upset and down about it
14:50
let's celebrate his life and that's what
14:52
we do we have a dinner that is just
14:54
awesome it's so much fun it's a bunch of
14:57
people there you have the opportunity to
14:58
bid on a few cool items that certainly
15:00
you'll never get anywhere in the world
15:02
for that matter that are signed by
15:04
people at GM and Corvette team there's
15:07
lots of opportunity to own really neat
15:09
products I call them wall hangers for
15:11
your house and what have you or your
15:12
garage at the same time just the
15:14
camaraderie is a lot of fun it's just a
15:16
good time we always try and have people
15:18
just come and present we try and keep it
15:20
fun and energetic so come on out on
15:22
Friday evening and join us it's really
15:24
great the meal is fantastic and the
15:26
auction items are not only fun but it's
15:29
great to see some of these things like
15:30
Lance said some of them were signed by
15:32
the Corvette team and people at GM it is
15:35
a fun fun evening and we're raising
15:37
money for a wonderful cause and Saturday
15:40
night buddy Saturday night is awesome
15:42
the whole town of Carlile shuts down
15:44
downtown for the Corvette parade and the
15:46
display of all the cars a I love the
15:49
parade it's one of those things you need
15:51
to experience it to believe it because
15:54
the entire downtown of Carlile
15:55
Pennsylvania shuts down and what do you
15:57
do you parkour vet and congest the whole
16:00
area and you have parades going on you
16:02
have basically it's almost like a
16:04
concert you know you've got a couple
16:05
different bands playing throughout it's
16:07
just fun it's a good time you can go
16:09
downtown eat you can have a few drinks
16:11
and everybody's there smiling I love it
16:13
yeah it's a lot of fun because like you
16:15
said there are food trucks there there's
16:16
a band that's playing and then you can
16:18
just walk the downtown streets of carile
16:21

63942 31 I'm your host Steve Garrett
19:38
with me is my buddy Lance Miller we are
19:40
talking about this year's Corvettes
19:42
carile in this third segment we're going
19:44
to tell you how to register we're going
19:46
to give you dates and a few other things
19:47
that are going on first Lance our
19:49
buddies at lingan felter performance
19:51
engineering are sponsoring the 2024 King
19:54
of the X competition talk more about
19:56
that absolutely this provid you an
19:59
opportunity to get out and enjoy your
20:00
car the way it's meant to be driven on a
20:03
small autocross track that we host it's
20:05
in the northern side of our Fields it's
20:08
always a lot of fun you do need a helmet
20:10
for this and you do need to sign up it's
20:13
just a lot of fun to have fun in your
20:15
vehicle and Just Bounce Around the
20:17
fairgrounds there in the back side of it
20:18
and you can win some cash for it too and
20:21
I love lingan Felder they've been a big
20:22
supporter of just getting out and
20:24
enjoying your car and enhancing your car
20:26
certainly they do a great job big shout
20:28
out to lingan felter performance Ken and
20:30
all his people there at lingan felter
20:32
performance engineering are the best
20:34
that's for sure and also new for this
20:36
year is the C4 challenge what's that all
20:39
about yeah the C4 challenge is going to
20:41
be neat that's new this year it's going
20:43
to be presented by mild the wild
20:44
fabrication and Laser so again there's
20:47
going to be cash awards for that now you
20:49
do need to have your C4 to go out and
20:51
play so obviously it's going to be
20:53
running believe it's on Friday at 2:00
20:56
if I'm not mistaken that will be again
20:58
right at our autocross on the Northern
21:00
side of our facility so if you don't
21:02
have a C4 be sure to go up and check it
21:05
out it's not only cash prizes on this
21:07
one and up to $500 but there's also some
21:10
neat trophies as well and some product
21:13
giveaways too so that'll be neat to
21:15
watch that's cool also one of the cool
21:17
things if you're in a Corvette club this
21:19
is really neat because we want to get
21:21
Corvette clubs officially recognized at
21:23
Corvettes of Carlile you can win some
21:25
nice stuff can't you oh you really can
21:27
and there's a huge array of things that
21:29
are out there so we're thrilled with
21:31
that and we're very fortunate you know
21:32
we try to bring everybody together as I
21:34
continue to mention the camaraderie is
21:36
what it's all about the people and
21:38
certainly Smiles for out Smiles for
21:41
Miles that's for sure also the flea
21:44
market is gargant one now didn't
21:46
Corvettes at Carlile start kind of that
21:48
as a flea market it really did you know
21:50
we take great pride on bringing a lot of
21:52
different vendors so you do have a
21:54
strong variety Through The Years yes
21:56
you've seen some drop off just due to
21:58
the fact with online and what have you
22:00
so what we do is really focus heavily on
22:02
the show field which continues to grow
22:05
but I always tell people be sure to go
22:07
and check out the vendors not only
22:09
because of the great product but because
22:11
of the knowledge throughout those are
22:12
some of the most interesting people to
22:14
speak with as far as the background
22:16
they've been in the hobby for just about
22:18
ever and you can find any product that's
22:21
Corvette related in that vendor area so
22:24
I always encourage people to go down and
22:26
enjoy themselves shop spread the wealth
22:28
and have some fun and also if you own a
22:30
carile blue Corvette you still get free
22:33
admissions to Corvette at Carlile on the
22:35
fun field absolutely it's funny I said
22:38
that right after they unveiled the color
22:40
Carlile blue for our 30th Anniversary
22:42
cash was there Harlem was there a few
22:44
other the GM team I had said you know
22:46
hey it's always going to be free for
22:48
anybody that owns the Carla blue
22:50
Corvette and we will always stand by
22:51
that that's really cool also buddy let's
22:54
talk about the dates of the show this
22:55
year and where they can get registered
22:57
and how they can get discount tickets
22:59
military discounts and so on and so
23:01
forth absolutely it's going to be held
23:03
August 22nd through the 24th it's warm
23:06
in Pennsylvania so bring your shorts and
23:07
your Walkin sneakers it'll be a good
23:09
time where can they register online as
23:11
well car events.com so again carow
23:14
events.com also I know that the Atlantic
23:18
Caravan that's going to the anniversary
23:20
at the National Corvette Museum is going
23:22
to be leaving Sunday from the grounds
23:24
there at Corvettes at Carlile and
23:26
they're going to go on into Bowling
23:27
Green aren't they they are it's going to
23:29
be fun we plan a little sendoff you're
23:31
going to probably be the first person
23:33
I've ever told this but on Sunday we're
23:35
going to do a Cars and Coffee for the
23:37
first time that goes for any vehicle and
23:39
we're going to do a proper send off for
23:41
them so it should be a lot of fun if
23:43
you're around Sunday morning be sure to
23:45
join us come on out obviously Corvettes
23:47
are certainly welcome if you're not
23:48
going on the Bowling Green fun trip
23:50
that's not a problem it's going to be a
23:52
good time sending them off so be sure to
23:54
stop by Sunday morning buddy thank you
23:57
